Oklahoma's Psychology Board now licenses behavior analysts: $300 BCBA application fee, April 30, 2027 renewal

What the Board's pages say

The Oklahoma State Board of Examiners of Psychologists now has dedicated pages for behavior analyst applicants and for renewals, both marked last modified October 31, 2026. The applicant page says the Board oversees Oklahoma BCBA and BCaBA licensure "beginning November 1, 2026." It lists application fees of $300 for a BCBA or BCBA-D and $250 for a BCaBA, and says application fees are non-refundable. Applicants use an online initial application, or apply by mail with a check or money order, and the Board emails background-check instructions after it receives the application. The page says the Board adopted a Crime List for behavior analyst applicants at its September 11, 2026 meeting; neither page links to the list itself.

The renewal page says state renewal is due on or before April 30 of each odd-numbered year, with the first deadline April 30, 2027 and the renewal window opening February 15. It lists renewal fees of $250 for a BCBA and $200 for a BCaBA, every two years, also non-refundable. It says existing behavior analyst license records were transferred to the Board and that licensees should not submit a new license application when renewing. Renewals go through the Board's licensee portal.

Where the Board's own pages disagree

The Board's home page, as we read it on November 2, 2026, still says there are no immediate changes to existing licenses and that licensees should keep conducting business with the Oklahoma Licensed Behavior Analyst Board (OLBAB) until further notice. That conflicts with the renewal page, which says records were transferred and renewals run through the Board. Our October 29 brief reported the home page notice. This entry supersedes it on the question of where renewals and new applications go, but we cannot tell from the Board's pages which instruction a licensee should treat as controlling if the two ever diverge.

What we have not verified

The Board's separate January 16, 2026 fee schedule has no behavior analyst line, so the $300, $250 and renewal figures rest on the applicant and renewal pages alone. We have not read the Crime List, any rule text adopting these fees, or the statute as it now stands.

Analysis: The regulator for every Oklahoma BCBA and BCaBA changed on November 1, 2026, and the first renewal under the new board is due April 30, 2027. For an Oklahoma operator, that means checking each clinician's license record with the new board, putting the April 2027 deadline and the two-year fee on the compliance calendar, and confirming in writing with the Board which office handles any pending OLBAB matter. For a buyer, license verification now runs through the Psychology Board, and a seller's records should show the transfer.
