What the bulletin requires
Indiana Health Coverage Programs bulletin BT202646, dated March 26, 2026, says ABA agencies enrolled with the program must be accredited. The recognized accreditors are the Autism Commission on Quality and the Behavioral Health Center of Excellence. Existing ABA group enrollments were required to show by August 1, 2026 that they had started the accreditation process, and all providers must be accredited by October 1, 2027 or lose their enrollment.
What we have not verified
We read the bulletin. It contains further detail on how existing accreditations are treated and how the requirement applies to different enrollment types, and this brief does not summarize that detail. We have not confirmed how the program is tracking the August 1, 2026 milestone.
Why it matters to an operator
Analysis: Accreditation takes preparation, and an agency that is not already moving has a limited runway before the October 1, 2027 date. An Indiana agency should confirm which accreditor it will use, confirm that it met the August 1, 2026 milestone if it is an existing group enrollment, and use the accreditor's standards as a checklist against its own policies and records.
If your agency has not started accreditation, the compliance audit shows where your documentation and policies stand before an accreditor or a payer looks, alongside your counsel.
