What was reported
Breaking News ABA reported on June 18, 2026 that Havencrest Capital Management, a Dallas healthcare private equity firm, is exploring a sale of Apara Autism Centers. The article attributes the sale exploration to an earlier Axios Pro report from late May and says Piper Sandler is running the process. It says neither Havencrest nor Apara has publicly confirmed the sale and that neither returned requests for comment. We have not independently confirmed the report.
The business, as described
The article says Apara operates 17 locations in Texas, Missouri, Nebraska and New Mexico, offering center based and in home ABA. It says Havencrest built the company rather than buying it, with the first center opening in Sugar Land, Texas in July 2019. It also says Apara acquired Behavior Pioneers in 2021 and, in January 2023, the Nebraska, New Mexico and Oklahoma operations of Autism Learning Collaborative and the Missouri operations of Early Autism Services.

Why it matters to an owner preparing to sell
Analysis: A multi state platform in a formal sale process is compared on the same records an acquirer of a single clinic asks for: licensure and credentialing files, Medicaid enrollment, and billing and supervision documentation. A seller in several states also has to show that each state's ownership and licensing rules were followed, and those rules differ from state to state.
If a sale is on your horizon, the sell side diligence work reads your compliance record the way a buyer's counsel will, before the buyer does, alongside your counsel. If you are already in a sale process, your counsel comes first.
